So many great producers are coming from Canada these days, John Roman being one of them. In the past months John has been churning out some of the most playable remixes on the internet (his remix of Proxy‘s 8000 is still a staple song in my sets) let alone the 29 stellar remixes he released in 2009. With support from from the Likes of LA Riots and Congorock he has really begun to penetrate the mainstream electro scene. First off is his great remix of Nadastrom‘s ‘Save Us’ which was featured on The Turned On vol. 1 compilation that Neoteric put together. John adds a nice swing that wasn’t present on the original, this song is perfect for building the atmosphere towards the start of your sets! Second is his remix of one of my favourite songs of 2010 ‘Dinosaurs with Guns’ by Teki Latex & Noob which is again pure dance-floor fire. The huge sub that laces this song is strangely addictive and is probably my favourite remix to date!
Expect to hear much more from John Roman in the coming weeks as on the horizon is his ‘Reclusion’ mixtape week. Here are some some word from the man himself:
“Reclusion” is a mix featuring my unreleased work from the past few months. In that time, I’ve changed, experimented and explored new directions in production, which you’ll hear on this collection. Some of it will be unexpected, some of it will be like the sound that interested you originally, but all of it is reflective of the music I’m passionate about right now.
