The Force of Your Gravity Defines My Tendency

The past week has been very gracious in its quality releases. It’s rare to see a constant stream of great new tracks to surface nowadays, but I’m starting to regain my faith in humanity. The most notable EP that has had me reigned over me completely lately is Dubbel Dutch‘s Throwback. Palms Out have been killing it lately with their big releases, such as Mat, Bira, Kvinnor, Weed, and Throwback is most definitely no exception to this. Dubbel Dutch’s much-anticipated second EP contains three tracks that have a completely timeless feel to them, along with huge potential to become classics. The whole thing is up for streaming over at Soundcloud (highly recommended!).  It’s hard to describe the positive vibes this EP exudes, but I think that this is what I imagined clubs to sound like when I was a kid and I’m glad that someone’s making my childhood imaginations come to life like this.

KOOBRA – THRILLS [320kbps]

Top Billin’ also brought us a lovely fresh EP by Koobra entitled Thrills. Koobra has previously etched his smooth talent into our brain together with Flipper under Helsinki 78-82, bringing us great releases like Cruising and So Lifelike. Helsinki 78-82 made it a point to hit us hard with the big city house feeling, and the Thrills EP continues this tradition. Koobra succeeds in subtly embedding a feel-good atmosphere into his tracks along with catchy beat patterns and nostalgic vocals that we don’t mind having stuck in our head all day. Much love for these suave productions that will have you ready for the summer in no time!

EGYPTRIXX – RADIO 1 GUESTMIX

Last but not least, Egyptrixx has once again managed to warp everyone into another dimension with his celestial vibes. His remix of The Aikiu’s upcoming single has made itself onto the internet, which falls in line perfectly with his immaculate sound so far. Even more exciting was his guestmix on Radio 1 for Mary Anne Hobbs, in which the previously mentioned remix was also featured. Now, I’m usually already a fan of Mary’s show as it is, but her recent and upcoming choices in guestmixes have converted me into actually listening to a radio show on a regular basis again. Egyptrixx’s twenty-minute live PA is a mix filled with tracks that have his own Midas touch to it, largely consisting of some fantastic unreleased productions but also featuring some of his newer remixes. You can find the full tracklisting after the jump. Do give yourself in to the hypnosis of this mix, though I can’t guarantee that you’ll be able to snap out of it! ?
