No Turning Back

Seems like the football is finally starting to heat up as the group stages slowly come to an end now and so it seems the music coming out at the moment is as of higher quality than ever. An artist I’ve been slowly following for quite a while now who’s surely set to explode this year with an imminent EP release with NT89 on Southern Fried, featuring remixes from the likes of Matt Walsh, Milano and Hidden Cat, is Savile. No word of a lie here, ‘Plug’ is one of my most anticipated tracks at the moment. After some brilliant edits he did of Hugg & Pepp last summer that firmly planted his name on the scene and that garnered support from Zombie Nation and Thomas Von Party, he’s decided to start putting together some more as part of a series, which you can follow on his bandcamp, the first being Radiohead’s ‘Idioteque’. Keeping the feel of the original intact yet still managing to bring a whole new level of originality to the track, Savile beautifully reworks the track into a mixture of flamboyant synths and vocals, intertwined effortlessly with some very tight IDM-esque sort percussion. Its always a risk to remix Radiohead considering they do what they do so well thats its almost impossible to improve on them but Savile successfully proves that it can certainly be achieved. A track I’m sure as going to be rinsing this summer.
