Wolfie – Buffalo

I don’t know about you, but I always love getting free stuff. In my breakfast cereal, in my happy meal; I love it all. So it’s only obvious I like getting free music. And I’m sure a lot of you get sparkly eyes too when the words “free 320” show op on your screen. Well, guess what: FREE 320! Man to thank for this one is Sydney based dj/producer Jack Carter, but you can call him Wolfie. Probably best known for his tropical house vibes released by labels all over the place and for showing off his dj-skills around the globe. You also might remember him from this post about his latest EP going by the name ‘Moretto’ released on MSMD records? Aaanyway, the freebee in question is called ‘Buffalo’, a nice track powered by a deep kick and elements of percussion flying all over the place, creating a cool groove while giving the track an afrobeat feel. One thing that is a tad unusual is that the man used an airhorn sample (yes, that thing drunk people bring to the local volleyball match) to form a lead at the drop. Points scored for originality and most imporant: it works! Wolfie is definitely coming up as a solid producer and I’m sure 2011 will be a great year for him, so you might want to keep an eye on this one!
