This isn’t our first post on the Spanish producer Pional. We wrote a post on a certain Frank Ocean edit last time, whereas this time he takes control over the one and only Beyoncé and her immortal track “Crazy In Love.” The way he pitches down Knowles’ vocals seems somehow familiar, yet its the back bone of the track that really downs out the main surprises. Despite the seemingly harsh contrast of elements, everything fits extremely well which is no surprise any more, considering the track record the Madridista producer holds. If anything, this shows a real progression in sound – no longer is there a reliance on the standard house template that he would sometimes hold on to, no matter how well he’s managed to use it. Although all output is a stellar effort, it seems that some of the most experimental sounds come from his remixes/reworks/edits of other artists, unleashing a certain mischief and fun to his productions that is always charming and entertaining.
