I’ve been completely stumped when it comes to new music lately so I’m really glad this just landed in my inbox tonight. Fresh from Nightshifters comes Talk‘s Holy Mountain. It’s taking me back to that nightmare-dance-music trend I mentioned in my first post as a Truant, with its dark and angry synths and terrifying collusion of suspiciously delicate bongos and angry kicks. Early on there’s also this tribal flute/breathy-coven-type-vocals breakdown that’s only one of a thousand elements that make this track sound awesome to my ears. Working through several movements, it keeps you guessing all the way through to its kick-fill end. The rest of the release is similarly haunting in a way that isn’t just dark and creepy for the sake of it because it was Halloween recently, but rather because dancefloors need a good shake every now and then. You don’t just go citing Jodorowsky as an influence for the sake of it you know.
You can buy the release, which includes remixes from the likes of LOL Boys, from Juno and some other places that aren’t as cool as Juno. There’s also an awesomely creepy video to go with Burning Alive.

Feels in a way like a mini-mix of an actual record. The structure is a plus.
