We Don’t Sleep at Night

Now, I’d like to think if one of my best mates hadn’t introduced me to liquid drum and bass, I would most likely not be typing away here and not be interested in the music I like today. No Brodinski, no Martyn, no Flying Lotus, no Boys Noize, no Justin Bieber. No to practically everything in my iTunes at the moment. It’s actually a really scary thought to think that if me and my mate weren’t one after the other on the register in school, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. Massive shout out to Bobby! One of the albums that set the clocks in motion, and an album I pretty much listened to religiously when I first discovered it was Commix’s Call To Mind. Now, I dont know how many of you follow or listen to liquid drum and bass but this is essential listening!

About two years ago, a Burial remix of one of the main tracks on this album surfaced and caused me and and other Burial fans to practically wet our pants. A rumour of a remix album then surfaced but after hearing constantly nothing from the subject I kind of assumed that it was never ever happening. Till now! If there is any remix album that can prove that they don’t just put a stain on the brilliant originals, its going to be this one. Excuse me if I get a bit excited naming the remixers on this album but it really is insane. Marcell Dettman, Sigha, Pangaea, D-Bridge, Instra:mental, Burial, Underground Resistance and many more! I think I’m more excited than this kid getting a Nintendo Sixty Fourrrrrrrrrr for Christmas. The whole album comes out in 16 days but as a little appetiser, I’ve got a stream of the beautiful Instra:mental remix of Japanese Electronics; one of my favourite tracks off the original album. Check back here in 16 days!
