Having written about Italian based label What Ever Not’s first record I Don’t Know Why (Nothin’s Going To Change) all the way back in 2012, we’re heavily acquainted with what they’ve been up to the last four years. Headed up by Dan Mela and Dodi Palese, the pair have been working in music for the past two decades and all their efforts and experience seems to have culminated in this wonderfully curated label with a strong passion for disco, house and techno music. The label has featured tracks and remixes from the likes of Lady Blacktronika, Chevel, Toby Tobias, Marcello Napoletano, D’Marc Cantu, Vakula, Snuff Crew, Harsh Puri and more which they’ve managed to produce over ten records. Their forthcoming milestone tenth release comes as a split between label co-founder Dan Mela and Marco Erroi under his XXXV Gold Fingers moniker; a five-track release featuring a guest remix from Russian deep house maestro Anton Zap. Dan Mela kicks off a new alias, Man Dela, with a nine-minute excursion called “The Ritual”, which builds subtly with an eight-note melody before letting things fall into place around the seven-minute mark. Anton Zap, who provides today’s premiere, goes slightly off-kilter with his remix, bringing a new rhythmic element to the track, while swapping the melody for strung-out pads and an unfurling set of intricate noises. It’s an almost natural follow up to his release on Apollo which saw him pursue a similar experimental approach outside of four by four.
