Premiere: Borrowed Identity – It’s You

Since jumping into the scene back in 2012, Borrowed Identity has successfully traversed a huge variety of labels with his broad musical range and confident studio skills. Labels such as Quintessentials, Foul & Sunk, Mistress Recordings and even the close-knit Ostgut Ton have all taken interest and put out his music in the past. From sample-heavy house music like “Get Down” to nine-minute long techno-steppers such as “Acido”, his discography is a solid indication to the type of direction his sets play out if you ever get the chance to see him in the flesh. In recent times he’s put out a joint record on Tenderpark with long-time friend Mechanical Soul Brother, another on Quintessentials as well as being picked out by Ben Sims to remix a track from his most latest Ron Barcardi project. His newest release, titled Amplified House, cements his relationship with Sims even further; inviting him into the Hardgroove fold with a full Borrowed Identity EP. With Hardgroove usually reserved for Ben Sims productions with a few new producers here and there, it’s a wonderful opportunity for the Berlin-based producer to show off his versatile production skills. With four tracks on the release, he does this with ease, veering between pounding yet soulful grooves to sparse Dance-Mania-esque pieces to more traditional techno. We’re able to premiere one of the tracks, “It’s You”, in full ahead of its release next week on the 25th.

Borrowed Identity – Amplified House EP is out on Hardgroove on the 25th April
