Photomachine’s Technicolour EP

Now we here at TRUANTS are major fans of Super Recordings having mentioned and posted about their releases on a number of occasions so it’s always a pleasure to find emails from them in my inbox. The 4th release on their label comes as a debut from London producer Photomachine whom you may have previously heard before from his collaboration remix with EL-B on Speech Debelle and through freebies he used to give out through his soundcloud. Having got into production via working for MJ Coles manager and helping sort out records whilst asking what makes the perfect track, you could say this has definitely worked in his favour. This is definitely one of my favourite releases in a while and Mumdance, Drop the Lime, 8Bitch and Jamie George all seem to agree.

Opening the EP with title track Technicolour, a groovy 130bpm house number with suitable vocal chops and a subtle but melodic bass line, it’s a track thats put a big cheeky grin on my face and I’m not even sure why. Whilst Technicolour is a more 4×4 affair, Sine Language goes on a deeper tip and ups the tempo for a more complex and shuffling drum pattern. Remixes come from Super head boss Raffertie, Hum and Buzz co founder Optimum and Throwing Snow whose remix you can download below. Great package which I highly recommend. Get it here.
