Last month I purchased a 12 inch and in that month it has probably racked up more plays on my record player than any other record in my entire collection. Being a huge fan of Kieran Hebden’s work (also known as Four Tet) I was incredibly excited to find out that a new extended version of his track Sing was coming out on Domino with a remix from Floating Points. I expected it to be good but what I got was greatness on an epic scale. The Floating Points remix could well be on its way to being my favourite track of 2010 and were only in April. Gorgeous flowing synths intertwine with garage-esque like drum patterns and soothing vocal samples. That was last month though as three days ago saw the release of Sings remix followup which come courtesy of Mosca and Hardhouse Banton. Although this release, in my opinion, doesn’t match up to the standards of the original and the Floating Points remix, they both equally deserve praise for originality. Both take the track in a more dance floor orientated version with the Mosca one incorporating a blend of techno and rolling percussions bursting with energy, whereas Hardhouse Banton, keeping more in touch with the original, spruces things up with a nice funky vibe. Both however essential purchases. Check them both out here. Also just in case anyone missed out on it, heres a bonus remix for you guys in form of the beautiful Floating Points remix. ?
