Everyones probably experienced that moment in a club or festival where a dj drops a big tune and everyone goes ‘Woahhhhhhhahhhhhhh’. Drinks get spilled, people get barged and that token small girl finds herself grinding the floor, fighting for her life. ‘Baggy Bottom Boys‘ by Canadian duo Jokers Of The Scene successfully blew me into oblivion when I first heard it out last year and it seems like their latest release on Fools Gold may just follow in its footsteps.’Revolting Joks’ is an all out beast of a track not worried about making a fuss, it aims big and it delivers the goods. However the remix from Boy 8 Bit is much more to my liking. Proving again that he has the golden touch with production, he delivers a track that somewhat reminds me of Plastikman’s ‘Spastik’ with the rolling, building snares. Throw in some old school piano stabs for good measure and your pretty much set to go.

Next up we take things down a couple of notches with a new remix of Foals by London based producer Astronomer, who for people who don’t know also makes up one half of Blogger’s Delight residents, Skull Juice. Straying away from the ‘rave in a wind tunnel’ sound that helped define them as a duo, Alex’s approach with Astronomer focuses more on slower tempos, spacey melodies and eighties sounding synths. With everyones starting to break up for summer this song couldn’t have come along at a better time. The track just makes me want to go on a huge all day bike ride in the countryside, find some random field and lie flat on your back in the grass and watch the clouds drift by.
