Mellow Orange probably have one of the most fitting names out there for their music collective. Whatever they put out seems to always have a soothing little charm to it that makes you want to close your eyes and get instantly transported to a tranquil beach during an orange sunset, where living in sheer utopia for the rest of your days is the most of your worries. Very apt for this description is Freddie Joachim, who is also responsible for a large chunk of the releases related to Mellow Orange. His impressive full length album entitled Midway was released this July and featured loads of very wholesome beats and lifting melodies. To my pleasure, Freddie has now come out with a new compilation called Olive Juice (Love Remixes Volume 1), which is basically a collection of nine fine remixes done by the man himself for the likes of Alicia Keys, Clara Hill and Floetry. All of the tracks have his soulful touch to them and the digital album is up for a complete free download to the first five hundred clicks. To give you a taste, here’s a lovely remix that serves as the fifth on Olive Juice. Really, grab yourself a copy of the whole thing before five hundred others have beaten you to it.

Next up are LOL Boys. To say that they have been on a roll this summer would be a grave understatement. With smashing remixes and an absolute summer jam like 123 on Palms Out Sounds, it’s hard for them to not take over our playlists and dancefloors simultaneously. And hey, Mark Ronson seems to agree with us. Most recently, they just put out a remix that’s light as air for young UK musician Florrie. There are tons of tracks out there to get you warmed up for the club, but I feel like this track would be perfect after a great night out to wind down while keeping you awake and energetic. You know, when your body is battered but your ears are still ringing for more so you voluntarily spiral into a state of insomnia. LOL Boys deliver, once again. And make sure you keep checking back here, because there’s a Truancy Volume by da boyz coming up as well. Exciting! ?
