Something possibly a little different to show you on this fine Sunday, from Turkish producer Onur Engin. We’re not exactly sure if we’ve ever had the pleasure of featuring a producer from Istanbul before on TRUANTS, but if we have we can safely say they are not in the majority. For those of you who haven’t heard of Engin before, the man certainly likes to keep busy: next to running the great label that is Ubeat Records, whose artwork is especially aesthetically pleasing, Onur Engin also bides his time managing Monotape Internet Radio and being an excellent edit producer. His most recent release comes in the form of a return to his Edit Volumes, now reaching the very respectable sixth in the series. Whether you’re a fan of old beefed up edits or not, these three tracks are some of the smoothest cuts to have surfaced from Onur Engin in a while, which is a big statement when contemplating how good his previous releases have been. Taking three tracks spanning Bobby Humphrey, Al Johnson & Jean Carne and Gwen Mcrae and wonderfully crafting them into elegant, clean and cruise-certified bombs.
