It Feels Better Than Love

Don’t you find it annoying when an artist with normal words for a name get so big that the actual meaning of the word is forgotten and all you associate with that word is the artist? I’ve literally forgotten what Justice even means. When someone shouts Danger, all I’m going to think of is that catchy melody and Terminator video from 4h30; most likely injuring myself in the process. It’s only a matter of time until I cant order some French Fries without singing Senta. One artist who’s slowly going to make me think of techno every time I enter a DIY shop is Berlin producer Shed, who just dropped his long awaited second album titled The Traveller on Ostgut Ton, which I’ve had on repeat the last week.

Shed delivers a mighty 14 track album thats packed with a huge variety of detailed sounds and moods, from soothing ambience chords and arpeggiators to early UK 90’s rave scene sounds, reminiscent of Aphex Twin. Those expecting straight 4/4 techno bangers may be put of by this album but those wanting an immersive look into the world of experimental techno and Berlin, would be pretty hard pushed in finding a better alternative this year. This album has shot to one of my favourites this year and as a little preview I’ve enclosed my favourite track of the album called 44A (Hardwax Forever!) which is an ode to one of the most loved record shops in Berlin! Dreamy and melodic; just the way I like it.
