It seems like Night Slugs and Sound Pellegrino are both killing it respectively as labels at the moment, but one label that has had me hooked from the start with a series of quality releases and compilations since around late last year, is the Portuguese based label Enchufada, ran by the boys out of Buraka Som Sistema. With a compilation released in March featuring the likes of J-Wow, DJ Riot and DJ Znobia, followed by a huge release in the form of the ‘Kitamanda EP‘ by Roulet in April, the label is successfully achieving in pumping those Kuduro vibes into every single household in the world. They continue their mission to break Kuduro to the masses with a follow up to their Hard Ass Sessions. Quick fact of the day people: ‘Kuduro’ is actually Portuguese for ‘Hard Ass’. TRUANTS blog bringing you Portuguese lessons from the comfort of your own chair! Anyway, Volume Two saw the label ask Bok Bok, Douster, Nic Sarno and Zombies For Money to create tracks inspired by Kuduro, with the firm limitation that the tracks should be between 135 and 142 BPM. I can hear you thinking “Bok Bok doing Kuduro?” and it’s definitely as good as it sounds! Yes, everyone’s raving about how good the new Para One EP is at the moment, myself included, but do yourself a favour and don’t let this release get overshadowed! ?
