New Joker Remix for Devlin

We would be lying to the core of our identity if we didn’t believe in Wiley’s words and the talent of the fresh Devlin. With emotionally charged freestyles that still go hard and music videos that reminisce a classier “Love The Way You Lie”(with the extra bravery of self-starring in it, instead of hiring big names), we’re more than glad to see the current buzz around Devlin since he signed to Island, home to Wiley and Tinchy as well. One of the begetters of dubstep, the young Eastonian producer Joker, remixed Devlin’s track featuring Labyrinth, “Let It Go”. Not the first collaboration between Devlin and Labrinth, as Devlin appeared next to Tinchy Stryder on “Up In Flames”, and not the first dubstep remix of Devlin’s works either, as there are a lot of dramatic ones around (although the fake Caspa one gets a pass), but it is certainly the first time Joker and Devlin officially meet.

Joker’s take on “Let It Go” is a slightly less theatrical, rawer version of the original that manages to hold on to Devlin’s stream of consciousness with all its uncensored feelings. Rather than dramatizing the track, this remix grips the expressiveness of the lyrics just right by supporting it with the right amount of bass. Stripping down the element of tragedy, the electrifying basics are left and Devlin’s verses are stressed, something the original track was lacking here and there. Whereas it’s often said that the original track is a grower, this version is one that can be embraced at ease – we love this to bits, stuck in a solar eclipse.
