Long time purveyors of the underground scene in their home city of Stockholm, Henrik Bergqvist and Noah Gibson’s productions, be it under their own names or their collab project HBNG, have provided much consistent quality when it comes to club-ready house and techno. Having debuted their HBNG project with the brilliant EP 1 last year on their own label Trouble In Paradise, their second instalment as a pair comes via Berlin based label Tanstaafl Planets. As the minds behind the warehouse Office parties in Stockholm, the duo’s knowledge of what works on a dance floor shines through in their productions and this four track release will no doubt rile up some sound systems in the near future. Titled The Lace Up EP we were asked to pick one of the tracks for a premiere, and although any of the four will comfortably rock a crowd it’s ‘Sudden Death’ that we feel is the real highlight. The kind of techno record that should never leave your bag.
