Premiere: Forrests – Organs

Irish act Forrests have been quiet lately, essentially going into hibernation for the guts of two years. During this time since the release of Wilder on Blast First Petite they’ve knuckled down, honed their craft and worked on a new release, Organs. It sees them make camp somewhere in between the earthy, emotive Bandcamp drone and the riotous celebrations of previous gigging parters Fuck Buttons. The title track, which we premiere here, feels like a heart-wrenching victory lap following the barrage of noise that precedes it, a ghostly cradle song for tired minds. The record comes in a limited run of 200, with 10 in a special poured concrete sleeve (see above). You can order from the group’s Bandcamp page, and you can catch them live in Dublin alongside Moodymann, The Cyclist and more at District 8 on Halloween night, and a week later at the newly minted Metropolis Festival in the RDS (though maybe invite some more women to play next time please, organisers).
