$in & Soraya – Dat Nolla Promo Mix by $in & Soraya

Jeeze. Truants don’t just write. We also like to play out the tracks we talk about in different duo’s, because we’re based in different countries. Our Dutch delegation, $in & Soraya, have been booked to play Femme En Fourrure’s clubnight at Nolla in Helsinki at the end of this month. The girls threw together a promotional mix for you to enjoy as a preparation for the night, with a taste of what you can expect from their sets. Most of the artists they’ve included in the mixtape have been involved with Truants one way or another – whether they’ve delivered us a Truancy volume in the past, contributed to Truancy One, were written about or they’re target of cutting Truants love. Not only did they get a former designer of Hood Musik Entertainment to make them a cover, 2/3 of the mix is exclusive for y’all!

Bullet starting with Darling Farah’s Younger, this mix commences by building up the vibes gradually with this track that blends otherworldly beats with familiar vocals. Advancing into a more active state of mind, Pangaea’s Inna Daze and Deamonds’ ridiculously impactful Tenseverb (as heard in his Truancy Volume as well) are proof that dat Nolla promo mix means bidness. Lovely new tracks by Presk, J. Bashy, Hovatron, Blackwax and 2562 are included – Dutch artists or tracks forthcoming on Dutch labels to rep dem roots. Blown away by seeing DJ Rashad for the first time the other week, they’ve included their current favourite juke track called “Don’t Leave Ur Girl Round Me” too, by Bristol bound producer Riffs. Voltron’s forthcoming EP on Discobelle is filled with gems, but the included XXXY remix of Don’t Stop is most definitely one to be smitten with. Of course are homeboys Brey and Rick Ross are included, because that’s how a Truants does. Enough words for now, turn the volume up and enjoy this mix.
