Whilst doing my daily routine of late night/early morning browsing of the web of new music I came across a producer from Argentina called El Remolon who recently just dropped a new EP on ZZK Records, home to artists such as Douster and King Coya. I’m quite ashamed that I haven’t given this label more attention, as while backtracking through their back catalogue I found some serious amazing stuff that I’ve missed over the past month. El Remolon’s new 6 track EP titled ‘El Pangeatico’ can only make this label even stronger. El Remolon delivers an mixture of Latin based IDM and funky induced dubstep. First up on the EP, which El Remolon has kindly given away as part of the release, is the track ‘Basta Ya Todos Somos Inmigrantes’ featuring some beautiful vocals from the lovely Colombian Lido Pimienta. I cant help but think this an exotic Latina version of Benga and Katy B’s Katy On A Mission. Some big resemblances; both tunes. The rest of the EP is of just as high quality and I highly express picking it up. Also for anyone from the US or Canada El Remolon is currently doing a tour over there with other artists Tremor, Chancha and EL – G. I’d check them out.
