I Love Me

I first came across Andreya Triana whilst searching through my local record shop. I came across a track she did with Bonobo and it came backed with a Flying Lotus remix so I immdiately snapped it up. From then on I always gave close attention to the Ninja Tune lady and her new single is one of the reasons why. I’m not going to lie here though, her new track ‘A Town Called Obsolete’ is a lovely piece of mellow pop and I’m sure she’s a lovely adorable person (don’t hate me Andreya!) but it’s the remix by Mount Kimbie that I’m most interested in. The Mount Kimbie boys strip the track down to its bare core leaving the vocal to beautifully soar over the intricate percussion you’ve known to love from Mount Kimbie.

ADREYA TRIANA – A TOWN CALLED OBSOLETE (MOUNT KIMBIE REMIX) (128 kbps)

Next up is a release that has literally has snuck up on me without me realising at all. Considering its two tracks by UK heavyweights Four Tet and Mala I’m actually disappointed in myself that I almost let this one slip on by. I can’t be too hard on myself as I would have heard about these eventually through a forthcoming Future Bass compilation on Soul Jazz Records featuring artists Four Tet, Mala, Untold, Coki, Ginz, Black Chow and V.I.V.E.K. This little sampler is just a little taster of things to come!

MALA – DON’T LET ME GO (128 kbps)

FOUR TET – NOTHING TO SEE (128 kbps)
